Saeed bin Jubayr reported,

A relative of Abdullah bin Mughafal was flicking pebbles, so Abdullah forbade him and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade flicking pebbles. He said, 'It cannot catch game and it cannot wound an enemy, but it can break a tooth and put out an eye.'"Later the man went back to doing it, so Abdullah said, "I tell you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this, and then you go on flicking pebbles? I will never speak to you again."
