A relative of Abdullah bin Mughafal threw pebbles using his fingers, so Abdullah forbade him and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade flicking pebbles in this way and said, 'It does not catch game nor wound an enemy, but it breaks teeth and puts out eyes.'"Then the man went back to doing it, so Abdullah said, "I tell you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it, and yet you flick pebbles? I will never speak to you again."
و حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا إسمعيل ابن علية عن أيوب
أن قريبا لعبد الله بن مغفل خذف قال فنهاه وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الخذف وقال إنها لا تصيد صيدا ولا تنكأ عدوا ولكنها تكسر السن وتفقأ العين قال فعاد فقال أحدثك أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عنه ثم تخذف لا أكلمك أبدا
