Abdullah bin Mughaffal saw one of his companions flicking pebbles between his fingers and said to him, "Do not flick pebbles, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike," or he said, "used to forbid flicking pebbles. It does not bring down game nor wound an enemy. It only breaks teeth and puts out eyes."Later he saw him flicking pebbles again and said to him, "I told you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked," or "forbade flicking pebbles, and yet here I see you flicking pebbles. I will never speak a word to you again."

رأى عبد الله بن المغفل رجلا من أصحابه يخذف فقال له لا تخذف فإن رسول الله ﷺ كان يكره أو قال ينهى عن الخذف فإنه لا يصطاد به الصيد ولا ينكأ به العدو ولكنه يكسر السن ويفقأ العين ثم رآه بعد ذلك يخذف فقال له أخبرك أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يكره أو ينهى عن الخذف ثم أراك تخذف لا أكلمك كلمة كذا وكذا
