Sufyan bin Abu Zuhayr Shanai came to visit them and reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog that is of no use to him for crops or livestock will have a qirat deducted from his reward each day."The one listening asked him, "Did you yourself hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"Sufyan replied, "Yes, by the Lord of this masjid."
