He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to face the two notches of the mountain that lay between him and the long mountain in the direction of the Kaabah, positioning the mosque that was built there to the left of the mosque at the edge of the small hill. The praying place of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was below it on the black hill, leaving about ten cubits or so from the hill, then he would pray facing the two notches of the long mountain that stands between you and the Kaabah.
حدثنا محمد بن إسحق المسيبي حدثني أنس يعني ابن عياض عن موسى بن عقبة عن نافع أن
أخبره أن رسول الله ﷺ استقبل فرضتي الجبل الذي بينه وبين الجبل الطويل نحو الكعبة يجعل المسجد الذي بني ثم يسار المسجد الذي بطرف الأكمة ومصلى رسول الله ﷺ أسفل منه على الأكمة السوداء يدع من الأكمة عشرة أذرع أو نحوها ثم يصلي مستقبل الفرضتين من الجبل الطويل الذي بينك وبين الكعبة
