When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on a journey and stopped to rest at night, he would lie down on his right side. When he stopped to rest just before dawn, he would prop up his forearm and rest his head on his palm.

كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا كان في سفر فعرس بليل اضطجع على يمينه وإذا عرس قبيل الصبح نصب ذراعه ووضع رأسه على كفه
