We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. We traveled through the night, and when it was near the end of the night, just before dawn, we fell into that kind of sleep than which no sleep is sweeter for a traveler. Nothing woke us but the heat of the sun.He continued the narration along the lines of the report of Salm bin Zarir, with some additions and omissions.He said in the narration, "When Umar bin Khattab woke up and saw what had befallen the people, since he was a man of strong voice and bold spirit, he called out the takbir, raising his voice with it until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke from the loudness of his takbir. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke, the people complained to him about what had happened to them."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No harm. Move on."Then he recounted the rest of the narration.
حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم الحنظلي أخبرنا النضر بن شميل حدثنا عوف بن أبي جميلة الأعرابي عن أبي رجاء العطاردي
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فسرينا ليلة حتى إذا كان من آخر الليل قبيل الصبح وقعنا تلك الوقعة التي لا وقعة عند المسافر أحلى منها فما أيقظنا إلا حر الشمس وساق الحديث بنحو حديث سلم بن زرير وزاد ونقص وقال في الحديث فلما استيقظ عمر بن الخطاب ورأى ما أصاب الناس وكان أجوف جليدا فكبر ورفع صوته بالتكبير حتى استيقظ رسول الله ﷺ لشدة صوته بالتكبير فلما استيقظ رسول الله ﷺ شكوا إليه الذي أصابهم فقال رسول الله ﷺ لا ضير ارتحلوا واقتص الحديث
