He was telling Abdullah bin Umar that a group of people in ihram passed by him at Rabadhah and asked him for a ruling about the meat of game which they had found some people not in ihram eating, and he gave them a ruling permitting them to eat it.He said, "Then I came to Madinah, to Umar bin Khattab, and asked him about that."Umar asked, "What ruling did you give them?"He replied, "I gave them a ruling permitting them to eat it."Umar said, "Had you given them any other ruling, I would have given you a painful beating."
و حدثني عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن سالم بن عبد الله أنه
يحدث عبد الله بن عمر أنه مر به قوم محرمون بالربذة فاستفتوه في لحم صيد وجدوا ناسا أحلة يأكلونه فأفتاهم بأكله قال ثم قدمت المدينة على عمر بن الخطاب فسألته عن ذلك فقال بم أفتيتهم قال فقلت أفتيتهم بأكله قال فقال عمر لو أفتيتهم بغير ذلك لأوجعتك
