The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was traveling on one of his journeys, and Umar bin Khattab was riding along with him at night. Umar asked him about something, but he did not answer. He asked him again, and he did not answer. He asked him a third time, and still he did not answer. So Umar said to himself, "May your mother lose you, Umar! You pressed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ three times, and each time he did not answer you."Umar said, "So I urged my camel on until I was ahead of the people, fearing that something might be revealed about me in the Quran. It was not long before I heard someone calling out to me. I thought, I feared that something had been revealed about me in the Quran."He continued, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and greeted him, and he said, 'A surah was revealed to me tonight that is more beloved to me than anything the sun rises upon.' Then he recited, 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory' [Fath 48:1]."
