I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "A people will emerge among you whose prayer will make you think little of your own prayer, whose fasting will make you think little of your own fasting, and whose deeds will make you think little of your own deeds. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will shoot clean out of the religion the way an arrow shoots clean through its target. You examine the arrowhead and see nothing on it, you examine the shaft and see nothing on it, you examine the feathers and see nothing on it, and you remain in doubt about the notch."
و حدثني عن مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث التيمي عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول يخرج فيكم قوم تحقرون صلاتكم مع صلاتهم وصيامكم مع صيامهم وأعمالكم مع أعمالهم يقرءون القرآن ولا يجاوز حناجرهم يمرقون من الدين مروق السهم من الرمية تنظر في النصل فلا ترى شيئا وتنظر في القدح فلا ترى شيئا وتنظر في الريش فلا ترى شيئا وتتمارى في الفوق
