Malik reported,

Luqman the Wise gave his son this counsel, saying, "My son, sit in the company of the scholars and press close to them with your knees, for Allah gives life to hearts through the light of wisdom just as Allah gives life to dead earth through the heavy rain of the sky."

حدثثني عن مالك، أنه بلغه

أن لقمان الحكيم أوصى ابنه، فقال: يا بني جالس العلماء، وزاحمهم بركبتيك، فإن الله يحيي القلوب بنور الحكمة، كما يحيي الله الأرض الميتة بوابل السماء !
