Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the masjid and found Abu Bakr Siddiq and Umar bin Khattab there. He asked them what had brought them out, and they replied, "Hunger drove us out."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hunger drove me out as well."So they went to Abu Haytham bin Tayyihan Ansari, who ordered that some barley he had be sifted for them, and he got up to slaughter a sheep for them.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Avoid the one that gives milk."So he slaughtered another sheep for them, and he fetched fresh water for them, which had been hung in a palm tree. Then they brought that food, and they ate from it and drank from that water.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "You will surely be questioned about the blessing of this day."

وحدثني

عن مالك، أنه بلغه

أن رسول الله ﷺ دخل المسجد، فوجد فيه أبا بكر الصديق، وعمر بن الخطاب، فسألهما، فقالا: أخرجنا الجوع! فقال رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أخرجني الجوع فذهبوا إلى أبي الهيثم بن التيهان الأنصاري، فأمر لهم بشعير عنده ينخل، وقام فذبح لهم شاة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: نكب عن ذات الدر فذبح لهم شاة، واستعذب لهم ماء، فعلق في نخلة، ثم أتوا بذلك الطعام، فأكلوا منه، وشربوا من ذلك الماء، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: لتسألن عن نعيم هذا اليوم!
