Abdul-Rahman bin Dallaf Muzani reported,

A man from Juhaynah used to travel ahead of the pilgrims, buying up riding camels at inflated prices, then pressing on quickly so as to arrive before the pilgrims. Eventually he went bankrupt, and his case was brought before Umar bin Khattab, who said, "To proceed. People, Usayfi, the Usayfi of Juhaynah, was content to trade away his religion and his honesty just so that it could be said of him that he outstripped the pilgrims. Take note, he borrowed recklessly and now finds himself buried under debt. So whoever holds a debt against him, let him come to us in the morning and we will divide his property among them. And beware of debt, for its beginning is worry and its end is ruin."
