Saeed bin Musayab reported,

Uthman bin Affan said that if a man gives a gift to a young child of his who has not yet reached the age at which he can take possession of the gift, and he announces it publicly and calls witnesses to it, then the gift is valid even though the father continues to manage it.

أن عثمان بن عفان قال من نحل ولدا له صغيرا لم يبلغ أن يحوز نحله فأعلن ذلك له وأشهد عليها فهي جائزة وإن وليها أبوه
