Umm Hakeem bint Harith bin Hisham was married to Ikrima bin Abu Jahl. She accepted Islam on the day of the conquest, while her husband Ikrima bin Abu Jahl fled from Islam until he reached Yemen. So Umm Hakeem set out and came to him in Yemen and called him to Islam, and he accepted it. He then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the conquest, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him he leapt up to him out of joy, without even a cloak on, until Ikrima pledged his allegiance to him. The two of them remained in that same marriage.
و حدثني عن مالك
أن أم حكيم بنت الحارث بن هشام وكانت تحت عكرمة بن أبي جهل فأسلمت يوم الفتح وهرب زوجها عكرمة بن أبي جهل من الإسلام حتى قدم اليمن فارتحلت أم حكيم حتى قدمت عليه باليمن فدعته إلى الإسلام فأسلم وقدم على رسول الله ﷺ عام الفتح فلما رآه رسول الله ﷺ وثب إليه فرحا وما عليه رداء حتى بايعه فثبتا على نكاحهما ذلك
