Whenever one of us was menstruating, the Prophet ﷺ would order her to put on a waist-wrapper while her menstruation was at its peak, and then he would lie close to her. And which of you can control his desire as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ could control his desire?

كانت إحدانا إذا كانت حائضا أمرها النبي ﷺ أن تأتزر في فور حيضتها ثم يباشرها وأيكم يملك إربه كما كان رسول الله ﷺ يملك إربه
Bukhari transmitted it in "Menstruation," chapter on being intimate with a menstruating woman, no. 302, and Muslim in "Menstruation," chapter on being intimate with a menstruating woman above the waist-wrap, no. 293, from the hadith of Ali bin Mushir, with this same chain.
