A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ, "I experience continuous bleeding and never become pure. Should I abandon the prayer?"He replied, "No, but leave off prayer for the number of days and nights you used to menstruate." Abu Bakr added in his version, "and estimate them within the month, then perform a full bath, fasten a cloth tightly, and pray."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد قالا حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع عن سليمان بن يسار
سألت امرأة النبي ﷺ قالت إني أستحاض فلا أطهر أفأدع الصلاة قال لا ولكن دعي قدر الأيام والليالي التي كنت تحيضين قال أبو بكر في حديثه وقدرهن من الشهر ثم اغتسلي واستثفري بثوب وصلي
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Woman Experiencing Prolonged Bleeding, etc., hadith no. 276, from the hadith of Ubaydullah with this wording, except that he said, from Sulayman, from a man of the Ansar, and the man is unidentified.
