The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which people are the best?"He replied, "Everyone who is pure of heart and truthful of tongue."They said, "We understand the truthful of tongue, but what is the pure of heart?"He said, "He is the one who is godfearing and Naqi, in whom there is no sin, no transgression, no rancor, and no envy."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا يحيى بن حمزة حدثنا زيد بن واقد حدثنا مغيث بن سمي
قيل لرسول الله ﷺ أي الناس أفضل قال كل مخموم القلب صدوق اللسان قالوا صدوق اللسان نعرفه فما مخموم القلب قال هو التقي النقي لا إثم فيه ولا بغي ولا غل ولا حسد
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Kharaiti narrated it in Makarim al-Akhlaq, no. 45, from the hadith of Yahya, following the same chain, at greater length, and Busiri graded it sahih.
