The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Obscenity never enters anything without disgracing it, and modesty never enters anything without adorning it."
حدثنا الحسن بن علي الخلال حدثنا عبد الرزاق أنبأنا معمر عن ثابت
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ما كان الفحش في شيء قط إلا شانه ولا كان الحياء في شيء قط إلا زانه
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 3/165, from Abdul-Razzaq, and it is in his Musannaf: 11/141, 142, no. 20145. Tirmidhi said, no. 1974, hasan, gharib, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid), no. 1915, (Ihsan), no. 552, though there is a scribal error in its chain. Kathir bin Habib also narrated it from Thabit, in Bazzar: 2/403, no. 1963.
