The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever humbles himself before Allah, glorified is He, by one degree, Allah will raise him by one degree, and whoever shows arrogance toward Allah by one degree, Allah will lower him by one degree, until He places him among the lowest of the low."
حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى حدثنا ابن وهب أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث أن دراجا حدثه عن أبي الهيثم
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال من يتواضع لله سبحانه درجة يرفعه الله به درجة ومن يتكبر على الله درجة يضعه الله به درجة حتى يجعله في أسفل السافلين

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih (Mawarid), h: 1942, from Harmala with it in full, and Busiri graded it daif because of Darraj from Abu Haytham, see h: 1788, and Muslim narrated it, h: 69/2588, "No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises him."
