The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah, glorified is He, says, 'Pride is My cloak and greatness is My garment. Whoever contends with Me over either of them, I will cast him into the Fire.'"
حدثنا عبد الله بن سعيد وهارون بن إسحق قالا حدثنا عبد الرحمن المحاربي عن عطاء بن السائب عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ يقول الله سبحانه الكبرياء ردائي والعظمة إزاري فمن نازعني واحدا منهما ألقيته في النار
[Hasan] It was narrated by Wahidi in al-Wasit 4/101, Jathiyah 45:37, from the hadith of Muharibi, through this route, and Ibn Fudayl corroborated him, as found in Ibn Hibban (Mawarid), no. 49. The hadith has many corroborating narrations.
