The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by us while we were repairing a hut of ours.He asked, "What is this?"I replied, "It is a hut of ours that has fallen apart, and we are fixing it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I do not see the matter as anything but more pressing than that."
حدثنا أبو كريب حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي السفر
مر علينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نعالج خصا لنا فقال ما هذا فقلت خص لنا وهى نحن نصلحه فقال رسول الله ﷺ ما أرى الأمر إلا أعجل من ذلك
[Sahih]. Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Manners, chapter on building, no. 5236, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, no. 2335, hasan sahih, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2556, 2555, and Amash explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 456.
