The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Islam will wear away as the embroidery of a garment wears away, until no one will know what fasting, prayer, ritual worship, or charity are. The Book of Allah will be taken away in a single night, leaving not a single verse of it on earth. Groups of people will remain, the very old man and the elderly woman, who will say, 'We found our forefathers upon this word, there is no god but Allah, so we say it too.'"Sila said to him, "What benefit will 'there is no god but Allah' bring them when they do not know what prayer, fasting, ritual worship, or charity are?"Hudhayfa turned away from him. Sila repeated the question three times, and each time Hudhayfa turned away from him. Then on the third time he faced him and said, "Sila, it will save them from the Fire," saying it three times.
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Hakim collected it (1/473, 545) through the narration of Abu Muawiya with this chain, but I did not find an explicit statement that he heard it directly. Muhammad bin Fudayl contradicted him, narrating it from Abu Malik, from Rubai, from Huzaifa, with this wording, as a mawquf report (Al-Dua, p. 30, no. 15). Despite this, Busiri graded it sahih, and Hakim said it met the criteria of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
