When the emigrants who had gone to Abyssinia returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "Will you not tell me about the remarkable things you saw in the land of Abyssinia?"A group of young men among them said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah. While we were sitting, an old woman, one of their nuns, passed by us carrying a jug of water on her head. She passed by a young man from among them, who placed one of his hands between her shoulders and shoved her. She fell on her knees and her jug broke. When she rose, she turned to him and said, 'You will come to know, you treacherous one, when Allah sets up the Throne and gathers the first and the last, and the hands and feet speak of what they earned. Then you will know how my case and your case will stand before Him tomorrow.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "She spoke the truth, she spoke the truth. How can Allah sanctify a nation in which the weak among them cannot take their right from the strong?"
حدثنا سويد بن سعيد حدثنا يحيى بن سليم عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن أبي الزبير
لما رجعت إلى رسول الله ﷺ مهاجرة البحر قال ألا تحدثوني بأعاجيب ما رأيتم بأرض الحبشة قال فتية منهم بلى يا رسول الله بينا نحن جلوس مرت بنا عجوز من عجائز رهابينهم تحمل على رأسها قلة من ماء فمرت بفتى منهم فجعل إحدى يديه بين كتفيها ثم دفعها فخرت على ركبتيها فانكسرت قلتها فلما ارتفعت التفتت إليه فقالت سوف تعلم يا غدر إذا وضع الله الكرسي وجمع الأولين والآخرين وتكلمت الأيدي والأرجل بما كانوا يكسبون فسوف تعلم كيف أمري وأمرك عنده غدا قال يقول رسول الله ﷺ صدقت صدقت كيف يقدس الله أمة لا يؤخذ لضعيفهم من شديدهم
[Hasan] Ibn Abu Dunya narrated it through the hadith of Yahya bin Salim, in Nihayah fil-Fitan wal-Malahim, my edition, 87/2, no. 916, and Busiri graded it hasan.Suwayd was corroborated by Ishaq bin Ibrahim in Ibn Abu Dunya's version, and Yahya bin Salim was corroborated by Muslim bin Khalid in Ibn Hibban's version, no. 2584. Its defect is that Abu Zubayr transmits it using the ambiguous "an" formula. It has corroborating narrations in Bayhaqi, 95/6, and Khatib, 396/7, and elsewhere.
