The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us out on a military expedition. A man from the Muslims charged at a man from the polytheists. He then mentioned the hadith, and added in it, "The earth cast him out." This was reported to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "The earth accepts those who are worse than him, but Allah wished to show you the magnitude of the sanctity of 'There is no god but Allah.'"
حدثنا إسمعيل بن حفص الأيلي حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن عاصم عن السميط
بعثنا رسول الله ﷺ في سرية فحمل رجل من المسلمين على رجل من المشركين فذكر الحديث وزاد فيه فنبذته الأرض فأخبر النبي ﷺ وقال إن الأرض لتقبل من هو شر منه ولكن الله أحب أن يريكم تعظيم حرمة لا إله إلا الله

[Hasan]. Tabarani narrated it, 18/226, hadith no. 564, from the hadith of Hafs, through this chain, and Busiri graded it hasan.
