The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you reach the morning, say, 'O Allah, by You we have reached the morning, by You we reach the evening, by You we live, and by You we die.' And when you reach the evening, say, 'O Allah, by You we have reached the evening, by You we reach the morning, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the return.'"
حدثنا يعقوب بن حميد بن كاسب حدثنا عبد العزيز بن أبي حازم عن سهيل عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أصبحتم فقولوا اللهم بك أصبحنا وبك أمسينا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإذا أمسيتم فقولوا اللهم بك أمسينا وبك أصبحنا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإليك المصير
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Ibn Sunni narrated it, no. 35, from the hadith of Abdul-Aziz, and Tirmidhi, no. 3391, from the hadith of Suhayl through him with a slight difference, and Tirmidhi said, hasan, and Ibn Hajar graded it sahih in Nataij Afkar.
