I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no servant who says each morning and each evening, 'In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,' three times, and then anything will harm him."The narrator said that Abban had been struck by a touch of paralysis, and the man kept looking at him.Abban said to him, "Why are you staring at me? The hadith is exactly as I have related it to you, but I failed to say it that day, so Allah's decree concerning me came to pass."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا أبو داود حدثنا ابن أبي الزناد عن أبيه عن أبان بن عثمان قال سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ما من عبد يقول في صباح كل يوم ومساء كل ليلة بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم ثلاث مرات فيضره شيء قال وكان أبان قد أصابه طرف من الفالج فجعل الرجل ينظر إليه فقال له أبان ما تنظر إلي أما إن الحديث كما قد حدثتك ولكني لم أقله يومئذ ليمضي الله علي قدره
Its isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapter on Dua, in the section on what has been said about supplication in the morning and evening, hadith no. 3388, from Ibn Bashar with this wording, and he said it is hasan gharib sahih. It is also found in Musnad Tayalisi, p. 14, hadith no. 79. Abu Dawud also narrated it, hadith no. 5088, from the hadith of Aban with this wording.
