The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever offers an excuse to his brother and the brother does not accept it bears a sin equal to that of a tax collector."Muhammad bin Ismail narrated to us, Waki narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from al-Abbas bin Abdul-Rahman, who is Ibn Mina, from Judan, from the Prophet ﷺ, a similar report.
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن ابن جريج عن ابن ميناء
قال رسول الله ﷺ من اعتذر إلى أخيه بمعذرة فلم يقبلها كان عليه مثل خطيئة صاحب مكس حدثنا محمد بن إسمعيل حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن ابن جريج عن العباس بن عبد الرحمن هو ابن ميناء عن جودان عن النبي ﷺ مثله
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in Al-Marasil, hadith 521 (chapter 110, on tools of amputation punishment), from Waki through this route, and the chain is daif because of the tadlis of Ibn Jurayj and others, and it is besides that a mursal narration. It has daif corroborating narrations.
