The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you gets up from his seat and then returns, he has the greater right to it."
حدثنا عمرو بن رافع حدثنا جرير عن سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا قام أحدكم عن مجلسه ثم رجع فهو أحق به
[Sahih] Ibn Khuzayma reported it in his Sahih, 3/160, 161, no. 1821, from the hadith of Jareer as narrated through him, and it is also in Sahih Muslim, in the chapter "If someone gets up from his seat and then returns, he has more right to it," no. 31/2179, from the hadith of Suhayl as narrated through him, no. 31/2179.
