May Allah confound Samura. Did he not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah cursed the Jews. Fat was forbidden to them, so they melted it down and sold it."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار عن طاوس عن ابن عباس قال بلغ عمر أن
قاتل الله سمرة ألم يعلم أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لعن الله اليهود حرمت عليهم الشحوم فجملوها فباعوها
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales, in the chapter "The fat of a dead animal is not to be melted down nor its grease sold," hadith no. 2223, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this chain. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Musaqah, in the chapter "The prohibition of selling wine, dead animals, pigs, and idols," hadith no. 1582, from Ibn Abu Shayba, with this chain.
