When the verses at the end of Surah al-Baqarah concerning usury were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and forbade trade in wine.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد قالا حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن مسلم عن مسروق
لما نزلت الآيات من آخر سورة البقرة في الربا خرج رسول الله ﷺ فحرم التجارة في الخمر
Bukhari narrated it in "Prayer," chapter "The prohibition of trading wine in the masjid," hadith no. 459, from the hadith of Amash, with the same wording. Muslim also narrated it in "Sharecropping," chapter "The prohibition of selling wine," hadith no. 1580, from Ibn Abu Shayba, with the same wording.
