Jabir bin Abdullah reported,
The Prophet ﷺ did not forbid the lizard, but he found it distasteful. It is the common food of shepherds, and Allah 
benefits many people through it. If I had some, I would eat it.Abu Salama Yahya bin Khalaf narrated to us, Abdul-Ala narrated to us, Saeed bin Abu Aruba narrated to us from Qatada, from Sulayman, from Jabir, from Umar bin Khattab, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.

عن جابر بن عبد الله
أن النبي ﷺ لم يحرم الضب ولكن قذره وإنه لطعام عامة الرعاء وإن الله عز وجل لينفع به غير واحد ولو كان عندي لأكلته حدثنا أبو سلمة يحيى بن خلف حدثنا عبد الأعلى حدثنا سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن سليمان عن جابر عن عمر بن الخطاب عن النبي ﷺ نحوه
(A) [sahih] See the following hadith.Sourcing: (B) [sahih] Ahmad narrated it, 1/29, from the hadith of Saeed, as already mentioned, no. 429, and it contains two defects, one of them being Qatada's ambiguous transmission wording, already mentioned, no. 175. As for the narration from the book, it is sahih. The hadith has a corroborating witness in the hadith of Muslim, no. 1950, and with that it is confirmed sahih.
