The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to take charge of his sacrificial camels, to distribute their coverings and hides, and not to give the butcher any part of them as payment. He said, "We will pay him ourselves."
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عبد الكريم عن مجاهد عن ابن أبي ليلى
أمرني رسول الله ﷺ أن أقوم على بدنه وأن أقسم جلالها وجلودها وأن لا أعطي الجازر منها شيئا وقال نحن نعطيه
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hajj, chapter "Giving the hides of the sacrificial animals in charity," hadith no. 1717, from the hadith of Abdul-Kareem Jazari, through him, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hajj, chapter "Giving in charity the meat, hides, and coverings of the sacrificial animals, etc.," hadith no. 1317/131, from the hadith of Sufyan, through him.
