Camping at al-Abtah is not a sunnah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only camped there because it made his departure easier.
حدثنا هناد بن السري حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة وعبدة ووكيع وأبو معاوية ح و حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع وأبو معاوية ح و حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا حفص بن غياث كلهم عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
إن نزول الأبطح ليس بسنة إنما نزله رسول الله ﷺ ليكون أسمح لخروجه
Reported by Muslim in the Book of Hajj, chapter on the recommendation of staying at Muhassab on the day of departure and praying Dhuhr and the prayers after it there, hadith no. 1311, from Ibn Abu Shayba, with this chain.
