If I move quickly between Safa and Marwa, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ move quickly, and if I walk, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walk, and I am an old man.
حدثنا علي بن محمد وعمرو بن عبد الله قالا حدثنا وكيع حدثنا أبي عن عطاء بن السائب عن كثير بن جمهان
إن أسع بين الصفا والمروة فقد رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يسعى وإن أمش فقد رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يمشي وأنا شيخ كبير
[Hasan]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Rites, Chapter on the Command Regarding Safa and Marwa, Hadith 1904, from the hadith of Ataa, transmitted through him. Tirmidhi said in Hadith 864 that it is hasan sahih.I say, a group of narrators reported it from Ibn Saaib through him, among them Sufyan Thawri, as recorded by Nasai (3971), and Kathir bin Jumhan, whom the majority of scholars considered reliable.
