Abu Ghawth bin Husayn reported,

A man from al-Faraa sought a ruling from the Prophet ﷺ regarding a Hajj that had been due upon his father, who had died without performing it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Perform Hajj on behalf of your father." The Prophet ﷺ also said, "Likewise, fasting that was vowed is to be made up on his behalf."
