The Prophet ﷺ allotted three shares to the horseman on the day of Khaybar, two shares for the horse and one share for the man.
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ أسهم يوم خيبر للفارس ثلاثة أسهم للفرس سهمان وللرجل سهم
[Its isnad is sahih]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Jihad, Chapter on the Shares of Horses, no. 2733, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, "Ubaydullah narrated to us," relating it. Bukhari narrated it, no. 2863, and Muslim, no. 1762, and others besides them, through various routes from Ubaydullah bin Umar, in a similar manner. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih.
