We went on a military expedition with Abu Bakr against Hawazin during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. We came to a watering place belonging to Banu Fazara and rested there at the end of the night. When dawn approached, we launched a sudden raid on them. We reached the people at the water and attacked them by night, killing the inhabitants of nine or seven households.

غزونا مع أبي بكر هوازن على عهد النبي ﷺ فأتينا ماء لبني فزارة فعرسنا حتى إذا كان عند الصبح شنناها عليهم غارة فأتينا أهل ماء فبيتناهم فقتلناهم تسعة أو سبعة أبيات

[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Jihad, chapter on a man calling out a battle cry, hadith no. 2596 and no. 2638, from the hadith of Ikrima, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two sheikhs (2/107), and Dhahabi agreed with him.
