The Prophet ﷺ came across a woman who had been killed on one of the roads, so he forbade the killing of women and children.
حدثنا يحيى بن حكيم حدثنا عثمان بن عمر أنبأنا مالك بن أنس عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ رأى امرأة مقتولة في بعض الطريق فنهى عن قتل النساء والصبيان
Its isnad is sahih. Ahmad narrated it in 2/23, 75, 76 from the hadith of Malik through this same chain. Bukhari narrated it, no. 3014, 3015, and Muslim, no. 1744, and others, from the hadith of Nafi through this same chain, so it is agreed upon.
