People, I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which I had withheld from telling you only out of concern for you and your companionship. So let each person choose for himself, or let him leave it. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever stands guard for one night in the path of Allah, glorified is He, it is equivalent to a thousand nights of fasting and standing in prayer."

[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Busiri graded it daif because of Abdul-Rahman bin Zayd, hadith no. 238, but he was not alone in narrating it. Hakim narrated it, 2/81, and others narrated it through other chains from Kahmas, from Musab bin Thabit, with a similar meaning, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Musab's situation was discussed previously, hadith no. 1747, and he did not meet his grandfather Abdullah bin Zubayr, so the chain, besides being daif, is also disconnected.Ibn Hajar graded it hasan, as mentioned in Fayd Qadir by Munawi, 3/501, and the hadith of Nasai (3171) makes it unnecessary.
