The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does not go out to fight, nor equip a fighter, nor look after a fighter's family in his absence with kindness, Allah, glorified is He, will strike him with a calamity before the Day of Resurrection."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم حدثنا يحيى بن الحارث الذماري عن القاسم
عن النبي ﷺ قال من لم يغز أو يجهز غازيا أو يخلف غازيا في أهله بخير أصابه الله سبحانه بقارعة قبل يوم القيامة
[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the book of jihad, chapter on the dislike of abandoning military expeditions, hadith no. 2503, from the hadith of Walid, with the same wording, and the continuous chain of hearing was made explicit by Ibn Asakir in Al-Arbain fil-Hathth alal-Jihad (pp. 84, 85, hadith no. 20), and others. Sadaqa bin Khalid corroborated him, as recorded by Tabarani in Musnad Shamiyin, hadith no. 883.
