The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever sends money to be spent in the cause of Allah while he himself remains at home will receive seven hundred dirhams for every dirham. And whoever goes out to fight in the cause of Allah in person and spends his wealth in that cause will receive seven hundred thousand dirhams for every dirham." Then he recited this verse, "And Allah multiplies for whom He wills" [Baqarah 2:261].
