Abu Qatada, a man from the tribe of Banu Mudlij, killed his son. Umar took from him one hundred camels as blood-money, thirty hiqqas, thirty jadhaas, and forty pregnant she-camels.The nephew of the slain said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A killer has no right to inheritance.'"
حدثنا أبو كريب وعبد الله بن سعيد الكندي قالا حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن يحيى بن سعيد
أن أبا قتادة رجل من بني مدلج قتل ابنه فأخذ منه عمر مائة من الإبل ثلاثين حقة وثلاثين جذعة وأربعين خلفة فقال ابن أخي المقتول سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ليس لقاتل ميراث
[Hasan] Malik reported it in Muwatta (Yahya) 2/867 from Yahya bin Saeed, and the chain is disconnected, but it has a hasan corroborating narration in Abu Dawud and elsewhere, and Busiri graded it hasan.
