The Prophet ﷺ was passing through Baqi al-Gharqad on an intensely hot day, with people walking behind him. When he heard the sound of their sandals, it weighed upon him, so he sat down until they had gone ahead of him, lest any trace of pride enter his heart.

مر النبي ﷺ في يوم شديد الحر نحو بقيع الغرقد وكان الناس يمشون خلفه فلما سمع صوت النعال وقر ذلك في نفسه فجلس حتى قدمهم أمامه لئلا يقع في نفسه شيء من الكبر
