His brother had died, leaving behind three hundred dirhams and dependents. He wanted to spend the money on the dependents, but the Prophet ﷺ said, "Your brother is held back by his debt, so settle it on his behalf."He said, "Messenger of Allah, I have paid off everything except two Dinars claimed by a woman who has no proof."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Give them to her, for her claim is true."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن سلمة أخبرني عبد الملك أبو جعفر عن أبي نضرة
أن أخاه مات وترك ثلاث مائة درهم وترك عيالا فأردت أن أنفقها على عياله فقال النبي ﷺ إن أخاك محتبس بدينه فاقض عنه فقال يا رسول الله قد أديت عنه إلا دينارين ادعتهما امرأة وليس لها بينة قال فأعطها فإنها محقة
[Hasan] Ahmad reported it in 7/5, from Affan, with this chain, and Busiri graded it sahih, saying, "Abdul-Malik was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in Thiqat." His hadith has a corroborating witness in Ahmad and Bayhaqi in 10/142, and its chain of transmission is hasan.
