The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of you, or among the best of you, are those who repay their debts most graciously."

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Agency, in the chapter on agency in settling debts, hadith no. 2306, and others narrated it from the hadith of Shubah through this route, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sharecropping, in the chapter on the permissibility of borrowing an animal and the recommendation of repaying with something better than what was owed, hadith no. 1601, from Muhammad bin Bashshar through this route.
