The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever seeks a right that is owed to him, let him seek it with dignity, whether he receives it in full or not."
حدثنا محمد بن خلف العسقلاني ومحمد بن يحيى قالا حدثنا ابن أبي مريم حدثنا يحيى بن أيوب عن عبيد الله بن أبي جعفر عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من طالب حقا فليطلبه في عفاف واف أو غير واف
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Bayhaqi, 5/358, narrated it from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Maryam, with this same chain, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih in Mawarid, no. 1163, and Hakim graded it in accordance with the standard of Bukhari, 2/32, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
