The Prophet ﷺ gave him a dinar to buy a sheep for him. He bought two sheep with it, then sold one of them for a dinar, and brought the Prophet ﷺ the dinar along with a sheep. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then prayed for him to be blessed, and after that, even if he had bought dust, he would have made a profit on it.Ahmad bin Saeed Darimi narrated to us, Habban bin Hilal narrated to us, Saeed bin Zayd narrated to us from Zubayr bin Khirrit from Abu Labeed Lamaza bin Zabbar from Urwa bin Abu Jaad Bariqi, who said, "Some livestock was brought in for sale, and the Prophet ﷺ gave me a dinar." He then mentioned a similar account.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن شبيب بن غرقدة
أن النبي ﷺ أعطاه دينارا يشتري له شاة فاشترى له شاتين فباع إحداهما بدينار فأتى النبي ﷺ بدينار وشاة فدعا له رسول الله ﷺ بالبركة قال فكان لو اشترى التراب لربح فيه حدثنا أحمد بن سعيد الدارمي حدثنا حبان بن هلال حدثنا سعيد بن زيد عن الزبير بن الخريت عن أبي لبيد لمازة بن زبار عن عروة بن أبي الجعد البارقي قال قدم جلب فأعطاني النبي ﷺ دينارا فذكر نحوه
(A) Bukhari transmitted it, in the Book of Virtues, chapter 28, hadith 3642, from the hadith of Sufyan, in this manner, except that he said, Shabib bin Gharqada said, "I heard the tribe speaking about Urwa," in this manner, and so on. See the following narration.
