The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is wrongdoing for a wealthy person to delay payment of a debt, and when one of you has his debt transferred to a solvent person, let him accept it."
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ الظلم مطل الغني وإذا أتبع أحدكم على مليء فليتبع
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Transfers, Chapter on Transfer and Whether One May Retract from a Transfer, hadith no. 2287, and Muslim in the Book of Sharecropping, Chapter on the Prohibition of Delaying Payment by the Wealthy and the Validity of a Transfer and the Recommendation of Accepting It When Transferred to a Solvent Person, from the hadith of Abu Zinad, through him. Nasai narrated it, hadith no. 4692, from hadith no. 1564, from the hadith of Malik, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, through him.
