His grandmother Khayrah, the wife of Kaab bin Malik, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some jewelry of hers and said, "I have given this in charity."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "A woman is not permitted to dispose of her wealth except with her husband's permission. Did you ask Kaab's permission?"She replied, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent for her husband Kaab bin Malik and asked him, "Did you give Khayrah permission to give her jewelry in charity?"He answered, "Yes."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accepted it from her.

[Its chain is daif] Tahawi narrated it in Maani al-Athar 4/451 from the hadith of Layth, with this wording. Ibn Abdul-Barr said, "Its chain is daif, no argument can be established from it," and Busiri and others also graded it daif. Abdullah bin Yahya and his father are both unknown (Taqrib).
